Welcome to the ninth national Britain's Best Park competition run by the world's largest manufacturer of petrol engines for outdoor equipment, Briggs & Stratton.

Castle Park, Colchester took the title of Best Park 2009 thanks to its rich history, excellent horticulture and wide range of family-friendly facilities. The park is situated at the heart of the town and provides residents and visitors to Colchester a green space to relax and enjoy.

This year, the competition is being run in two stages. Firstly, (via this application form) entries are invited from bodies or individuals nominating their best park. Secondly, the entries are whittled down to the finalists who will be judged by our distinguished panel of experts, and an overall winner chosen.

When completing the form please include all information you feel would be relevant to your bid, as the entries are initially judged by this form and accompanying material alone. High-resolution photographs and aerial images are also useful to illustrate your entry.
